Mrs H and the Sing-along Band

Mrs H and the Sing-along Band is a collective of professional musicians united by the passion of bringing quality music to children and their families.

Sing-along was founded in 2005 by Harriette Ashcroft with her mission to provide free, music drop ins for children and their carers.  Ted attended these sessions with his young son and later joined forces with Harriette in 2010 to assemble the cast of ‘The Sing-along Band’. This included, Ali Friend, Gill Sandell and Sebastian Hankins.

They tour and perform in schools, libraries, elderly support centres, community/arts centres as well as making appearances at summer festivals.

In 2018, supported by Arts Council England and Waltham Forest Council, they developed their intergenerational project ‘All Together Now’, bringing young families and older generations together through music.

Their twice a week gigs in Exmouth Market, London have become an essential and much loved part of many families lives culminating in 2015 when they performed three sell out shows at The Union Chapel, London to celebrate the launch of their book/album ‘Mrs H Sings’.

“Somewhere between the lands of music and theatre, blended together with a large portion of audience involvement, Mrs H and the Sing-along band cook up a euphoric communal experience that needs to be dived into” Helen Thorn, Scummy Mummy podcast

“Mrs H and the Sing-along Band are part of my sons DNA, every word and every note is in his heart”
