Ali Friend from the band Red Snapper introduced Ted to Beth Orton when she was first recording demos. After being signed to Heavenly Records she asked them to be involved in the writing and playing of her first album ‘Trailer Park’. This was released in 1996 to huge critical acclaim. Mercury nominated and Brit awarded it went on to be rereleased in 2009 as a ‘seminal classic album’.

The collaboration continued through the subsequent releases of the ‘Best Bit’ EP, ‘Central Reservation’ and ‘Daybreaker’ albums and Ted became a permanent member of her touring band for over 10 years.

They parted ways before Beths ‘Company of Strangers’ album but still continue to write and play together.
